For thousands of years, the Horse has dutifully served our agriculture, our battles in war, and our sports in peace.

And always, they gave us prestige amongst our peers, and the opportunity to be 'more than we are.'

For those thousands of years, literally countless books and articles were written about equine training and behavior.

Interest centered mainly on solutions to those perplexing 'horse problems' that seem to plague each new generation of owners and riders.

This site is dedicated to dispelling the myth that a 'bad horse' has ever existed.

It offers very simple, basic truths to explain how  we came to ignore the possibility that our lack of understanding and our present day management and training practices are the cause of all those bad behavioral problems.

There is a whole new world of horsemanship waiting for those who desire to share the ultimate levels of reciprocal understanding, complete interdependent trust and true intimacy with their horse.

A new world where round pens, harsh bits, whips, magic aids and spurs are neither needed nor allowed.

But first, a little preparatory food for thought....

"Doubting everything or believing anything
are two equally convenient solutions,
both of which save us from thinking."

~ Jules Henri Poincare ~

When we reject every new bit of applicable knowledge we are exposed to,
simply because it does not 'fit' with our present beliefs,
or when we run blindly to be the luminary of every new 'in vogue fad,'
without critical examination,
we lose.

And in the process, our Horse loses with us.

"A man is wise with the wisdom of his time only,
and ignorant with its ignorance."
~ Henry David Thoreau ~

Sometimes it is best to 'stick with the herd.'
Sometimes it is crucial to critically evaluate the archaic customs of the herd.
Knowing when it is best to choose which direction to turn is called 'judgment.'
How can we possibly develop any real degree of 'judgment' of Horsemanship
if we do not first fully understand the animals we are working with,
and how they perceive our actions and interactions with them?

"We cannot solve the problems that we have created,
with the same thinking that created them."
~ Albert Einstein ~

Many believe that doing the same thing over and over,
while expecting different and better results,
is a definite sign of mental imbalance.

As far as the Horse is concerned, we are still using the same basic format of restriction
to establish dominance and 'control' that was used six thousand years ago.

To say that the Horse is not impressed by our 'new perceptions' and methodologies
of present day horsemanship would be a gross understatement, and blatantly obvious
on any Internet group list or equine magazine filled with 'bad horse problems.'
Think about it....
